# D621 configuration via WebUI — Overview

The D621 can be configured through the WebUI. Access the WebUI by using one of the following methods:

- In your browser's address bar, type:
  
  **https://*hostname***
  
  where *hostname* is the hostname (KB-XX-XX-XX) or IP address of the radio. See [Connecting to the AltoPlex radio](https://support.altowav.com/connect-to-the-altoreach-device.html#h3) for more information.
- Link from the Wireless table of a connected device's WebUI by clicking the name of the device to configure in the **Peer Name** column of that table.

- Use the device's [management Wi-Fi](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-connect-via-the-wi-fi-management-ap-d423.html?hsLang=en-us).
- If using the AltoCommand, access the WebUI from the **Devices** page by clicking  at the end of a device's row and clicking **Connect to Device**.

Some common tasks at the WebUI:

- View information about the device, such as the  firmware version \>AltoCommand server status, and wireless connections, on the [Status tab](https://support.altowav.com/network-tab.html?hsLang=en-us). You can also click on a **Peer-Name** to access the WebUI for a connected device.
- On the [Admin tab](https://support.altowav.com/network-tab.html?hsLang=en-us): 
    - Configure the location of your AltoCommand server. (Requires AltoCommand version 4.0).
    - [Upgrade firmware](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-upgrade-altoplex-firmware.html?hsLang=en-us).
    - [Change the admin password](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-change-the-default-password.html?hsLang=en-us).
    - Locate the radio.
    - [Download a diagnostic file](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-download-and-interpret-diagnostic-logs.html?hsLang=en-us).
    - [Reboot](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-reboot-an-altoplex-device.html?hsLang=en-us).
    - [Restore Factory Defaults](https://support.altowav.com/altoplex-factory-reset-instructions.html?hsLang=en-us).
    - Set the **Location** or **Description** per your network design plan.

- On the [Wireless tab](https://support.altowav.com/d621-configuration-via-webui-overview#Wireless_tab): 
    - Configure the role of the radio, either distribution node (**DN**) or client node (**CN**).
    - If the radio is configured to use the DN role: 
          - Configure the radio's **Channel**, **Golay index**, and **Polarity**, as well as optionally configure a link to another DN, or use [DN link auto-configuration.](https://support.altowav.com/how-to-configure-dn-link-auto-configuration-d423.html?hsLang=en-us)
          - [Configure CN links](https://support.altowav.com/d423-configure-links-to-client-nodes.html?hsLang=en-us) for up to 15 client nodes.
- On the [LAN tab](https://support.altowav.com/network-tab.html?hsLang=en-us), configure [MAC filtering](https://support.altowav.com/d621-configuration-via-webui-overview#MAC_filtering).
- On the [Network tab](https://support.altowav.com/network-tab.html?hsLang=en-us), configuration various networking features, such as VLANs, Spanning Tree protocol, and the management interface.

The header of the WebUI shows the **Unit name** of the D621 (also called the hostname), **Description** and **Location**, as well as offering a **login** link.

The header background changes from gray to yellow when a unit is unreachable.
